I’m traveling SE Asia solo on a tight budget and randomly walked into Born to Surf based on a hostel mate’s tip—SO glad I did. Gear was top-notch, group size small, and the instructors felt more like surf buddies than teachers. We even grabbed mie goreng together after the session. I stood up on my second wave (never surfed before!) and left with a GoPro vid that’s now my favorite travel memory. Zero tourist traps—just pure stoke

The coaches at Born to Surf School Lombok mixed safety with pure fun—teaching the kids on gentle waves while giving us parents a few bigger sets. From the first land drills to our final high-fives in the water, everything felt organized and personal. The kids are still talking about their “surf trophies” (stickers + big smiles!). Can’t recommend this crew enough for families who want memories, not just lessons. 🌴👨👩👧👦🏄♀️
